Estavayer reached its goal to become an officially labelled Energy city during its first parliamentary term after the merger, integrating seven communities. With a score of 56,8%, there was a comfortable margin compared to the minimum level of fifty percent that is required. Even so, Estavayer announced it foresees increasing the use of renewable energy in the community while adopting an extensive approach.
