The Swiss “Energy City” label is a proof of performance for municipalities which are modelling and implementing sustainable local energy policies. Energy cities promote renewable energy use, environmentally-friendly mobility and rely on efficient use of resources. Energy City is a tool kit and quality management system for local sustainable energy policies and enhances regional value creation along with quality of life. We oversee 26 French and/or German speaking municipalities in the canton of Fribourg: the 15 municipalities in the Sense District, the cities of Estavayer, Fribourg and Murten, as well as the municipalities of Courgevaux, Courtepin, Gurmels, Kleinbösingen, Le Mouret, Marly, Muntelier and St-Aubin.
