Solar heat can make a significant contribution to the energy system transformation. Its great potential is still far from being used to its full extent. The Master Plan shows how up to 10% of heating needs can be met by solar energy by 2035.
Under a mandate from Swissolar, a broadly composed advisory group for the Master Plan was developed (in collaboration with Ernst Basler + Partner). The Master Plan analyzes the market, proposes removal of barriers for the rapid expansion of solar heat and shows which market segments are to be taken up in priority, as well as which concrete measures are necessary to achieve the objective; within the framework of an overall strategy.
