The municipality of Murten / Morat has once again been awarded the European Energy Label for its sustainable energy policy and activities carried out over the last four years. These activities included, amongst others, replacing fossil energy by using renewable energy sources for heating its municipal buildings, especially by connecting its buildings to the district heating network wherever possible and installing new sustainable heating systems. Thus, the municipality could increase its renewable energy share for heating purposes from just below 1% (2015) to over 70% (2019).
